Privacy Policy

How Karnough handles your information — and why there is so little to say
App: Karnough com.logicgrid.karnough Platform: Android Effective 28 August 2026 Last updated 28 August 2026

The short version

Karnough does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics, no third-party SDKs and no server of its own. It requests no Android runtime permissions. Everything you enter — truth tables, expressions, practice answers — stays on your device and never leaves it.

Who is responsible

Karnough is developed and published by CrimsonNest Studio, a trading name of UK Centre of Excellence for Psychotherapy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. In data protection terms, the company is the data controller for this app — although, as described below, there is no personal data for it to control.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to the Android application Karnough, package name com.logicgrid.karnough, distributed through Google Play. It does not cover Google Play itself, your device manufacturer's software, or any other app or website you may reach from your device.

Information we do not collect

To be specific, Karnough does not collect any of the following:

  • Identity data — no name, email address, phone number, username or account of any kind.
  • Device identifiers — no advertising ID, no Android ID, no IMEI, no device fingerprint.
  • Location data — the app never requests or derives your location.
  • Usage or analytics data — no screen views, sessions, crash reports or event logs are gathered or sent anywhere.
  • Contacts, photos, files, camera or microphone — the app does not access them and does not ask to.
  • Payment data — there are no purchases, subscriptions or in-app billing of any kind.

Because none of this is collected, none of it is stored on a server, shared with anyone, or sold. There is no back end to breach.

What stays on your device

Karnough saves a small amount of information locally so the app is usable between sessions — for example the map you were last working on, your practice progress, and simple settings such as the number of variables. This data is written to the app's private storage area on your device.

It is never transmitted anywhere, is not readable by other apps, and is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall Karnough.

Permissions

Karnough declares no Android runtime permissions. It does not use the internet, and it works exactly the same with your device in airplane mode. If a permission prompt ever appears while using this app, do not grant it and please contact us — it did not come from Karnough.

Third-party services

The app contains no advertising networks, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, no social media integrations and no cloud services. No third party receives data through Karnough.

Google Play handles the distribution, installation and updating of the app. Google may collect information about that process under its own privacy policy, over which we have no control and to which we have no access.

Children

Karnough is a study tool suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13 in particular. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will look into it — though there is no mechanism in the app by which that could happen.

Security

The strongest protection we can offer is not holding your data at all. What the app does save is kept in Android's private per-app storage, protected by your device's own security model and, on modern devices, by full-disk encryption. Keeping your device updated and locked with a passcode or biometric is what protects that data in practice.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and similar laws elsewhere, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to its processing. We do not hold any personal data about users of Karnough, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase on request. You can remove everything the app has stored locally at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.

If you are in the UK and wish to raise a concern about data protection, you may contact the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you may contact your national supervisory authority.

International use

Karnough can be used anywhere Google Play is available. Because no data is transmitted from the app, there is no international transfer of personal data to describe.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects privacy — for example if a future version adds a feature that needs a network connection — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date at the top of the page will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy. Older versions of the app are not retroactively affected by new terms.
